Details arise as to the new Immigration overhaul
The new system will place detainees according to the risk posed by them. The measures are intended to make the $2.6 billion-a-year immigration detention system safer and more efficient without raising costs. This is a necessary step to making the system more efficient not just for the 380,000 immigrants detained annually, but also for their attorneys, families, and the government, in that new system will promote organization of detainees more readily (such as a proposed medical classification system).
